 Commission No 2

The commission would emulate the below style of painting using the primary colours of dark blue [instead of black] and green [tone to be agreed].

The piece would measure circa 130mm x 100mm and be set in a gallery style wrap frame similar to the one illustrated in the below image.

This is the frame of the original piece you selected.

The frame comes in a natural finish which can either be treated with a clear or stain wax to achieve a natural wood finish or any colour required referencing the Farrow & Ball colour chart.

The below image shows the surface texture that I use on large pieces such as the one above.

L E Designs II

Your clients originally identified this piece from the archive as a piece of interest and suggested something similar to this with more colour.

The impact of this piece centres around the simplicity of shape and the use of stark black and white - adding colour can be difficult and I am still working on how this can be achieved without losing the simplicity appeal.

The below pieces are from my archive and are geometric in design with more shape and colour which would work on a large landscape scale but using the colours from the interior scheme.

Having looked at the colour/pattern board you supplied I did think that due to the patterns you have selected for curtains - cushions and various items of furniture I wondered if  using more ORGANIC shapes in the artwork which at the same time use colours that are within or compliment the interior scheme might work better.

These are just examples of that thought and the shapes that can be used in relief style to give depth to the piece - I also considered that using a plain white frame and setting the artwork on a white backboard set the piece off well.

The first two hang in settings which contain similar patterns and finishes to your colour/pattern board.
